Have you ever been in a supercar and, how fast did you go?

Last year I was lucky enough to visit the MPH06 show at the Birmingham NEC. A number of supercar owners were offering 30 minute “thrill” rides round the dual-carriageways encircling the exhibition centre. There was loads of grunt there – FordGT90, Ferrari F430, Lotus Exige to name but a few – all starting from about 45 quid.
I made a beeline for a black Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder – £70. My god! I know Audi now own Lambo’ but they certainly haven’t adulterated the engines. We only hit a measly 125mph; well, I say “measly” but the car does 200 or near as makes no difference. And the acceleration. Your head may aswell be attached to your torso via a weak spring. Put your foot down in a 530bhp, V10 Gallardo and the acceleration doesn’t so much contort your face than rip it clean off.
An unbelievable car which, I wish I had; only my bank account’s slightly destitute of the £125,000. . .
